Actors Park Ji Hoon (Weak Hero Class 1) and Hwang Hee (Tale of the Nine-Tailed, Arthdal Chronicles, Doctor John) are set to depict a fierce sibling rivalry in the upcoming drama Love Song for Illusion.

Scheduled for release in January, Love Song for Illusion is based on a popular webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of a man with two contrasting personalities and a woman hiding a dark past.

Park Ji Hoon plays Sa Jo Hyun, a character who has not healed from the wounds inflicted by his oppressive father, Sa Jo Seung, when he was a child. Despite possessing good looks and a brilliant mind, he conceals his true identity and works as a fashion designer in a low-street clothing store, contrary to the typical image of a prince.

On the other hand, Sa Jo Yong (Hwang Hee) is the half-brother of Sa Jo Hyun. He is the prince praised within the palace for his outstanding personality. Yet he harbors dark ambitions and has a different side to his image.

As such, the two brothers, each concealing their secrets, are poised for an inevitable confrontation for the throne.

Director Lee Jung Sub expressed solid confidence in both actors, stating, “In the drama, Sa Jo Hyun,  Yeon Wol (Hong Ye Ji), Sa Jo Yong, and Geum Hwa (Ji Woo) are all characters with dualities. Just as I had faith in actor Park Ji Hoon that he would play his dual characters well, I also had faith in actor Hwang Hee that he would make the character Sa Jo Yong into a fascinating villain.”

Anticipation mounts for the performances of the actors Park Ji Hoon and Hwang Hee, who portray rivals vying for the throne, infusing the drama with gripping tension.

Love Song for Illusion is scheduled to air on January 2, 2024. The K-drama will be available to stream on Viki.
