Premiering this month, The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract tells the story of two people from different timelines – Park Yeon Woo (Lee Se Young), a woman from the Joseon era, and Kang Tae Ha (Bae In Hyuk), a man with a cold demeanor from 21st century – entering a contract marriage.
In the previously released teaser, viewers got a glimpse of Park Yeon Woo (Lee Se Young), fascinated by 21st-century Korea, and Kang Tae Ha (Bae In Hyuk), frustrated by Yeon Woo’s weird behavior. The teaser, depicting the struggles of a Joseon woman in modern Korea, evoked laughter.
But, the newly released stills portray the duo in the Joseon era. Of particular interest is the first encounter between Park Yeon Woo and Kang Tae Ha, which they have by the wall of Kang Tae Ha’s house.
Park Yeon Woo, the only precious daughter of a noble family, wears commoner’s clothes, unlike a noblewoman, and is astounded when she first meets the Joseon-era Kang Tae Ha, who has the same face and name as the modern-day Kang Tae Ha.
In one particular still, Yeon Woo is seen covering Tae Ha’s mouth with her hand as if to prevent his voice from being heard, raising curiosity about how they met and why she is trying to hide.
The production team emphasized that the most interesting aspect of The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract will be watching what kind of relationship Park Yeon Woo and Kang Tae Ha will build as they go back and forth between 19th-century Joseon and 21st-century Korea.
Joining Lee Se Young and Bae In Hyuk in this time-slip rom-com are Yoo Sun Ho, Oh Yu Jin, Jin Kyung, Joo Hyun Young, Jo Bok Rae, and Son So Mang, among others.
The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract will premiere on November 24 on Viki. The K-drama will air 12 episodes.
