Sleep tells the story of Hyun Soo (Lee Sun Kyun) and Soo Jin (Jung Yu Mi), a happy couple whose life is turned upside-down by Hyun Soo’s peculiar behavior when he falls asleep. It marks the directorial debut of Yoo Jae Sun.

Sleep was also invited to the Critics’ Week section of the 76th Cannes International Film Festival.

The Gérardmer International Fantastic Film Festival, which started in 1994, is celebrating its 31st anniversary this year. This is the first time since 2004, after director Kim Jee Woon‘s A Tale of Two Sisters, that a Korean work has won the top prize at this film festival.
