Actress Han Hyo Joo plays a cool and charismatic CEO in the upcoming thriller Blood Free.

On March 12, Disney+ released stills of Han Hyo Joo from the upcoming original series Blood Free

Blood Free is a suspense thriller set in an era where meat is genetically engineered. BF (Blood Free) is the company leading the genetically engineered meat market. 

BF’s CEO, Yoon Ja Yoo, is surrounded by suspicions, gets entangled in mysterious incidents, and pursues the truth behind them.

Han Hyo Joo takes on the role of Yoon Ja Yoo, the CEO of the world’s leading biotechnology company, BF.

She is the center of people’s attention as a figure leading the era of artificially engineered meat while facing threats from those who oppose this industry.

To protect BF and herself, she teams up with dedicated bodyguard Woo Chae Woon (Ju Ji Hoon).

Han Hyo Joo not only embodies the charisma and determination of Yoon Ja Yoo but also accurately portrays a variety of emotions that make her suspicious of those around her.

The stills give a glimpse into the life of Yoon Ja Yoo. Talking on the phone with a solemn expression, walking surrounded by the media, or wearing special goggles — the stills portray her as a woman serious about her work.

Director Park Cheol Hwan praised Han Hyo Joo, stating, “She [Yoon Ja Yoo] is a difficult character [to portray], but [the actress] did a good job of bringing out the emotions of this person [and what she] went through to get to where she is.” Cinematographer Kim Tae Sung also remarked, “She conveyed so much through her eyes, showcasing an indescribable mystery.” Actor Lee Moo Saeng also lavished praise, saying, “Han Hyo Joo completely transformed into Yoon Ja Yoo.”

Blood Free will be available on Disney+ starting April 10.
