Ma Dong Seok, aka Don Lee, reveals he has planned eight installments for The Roundup series.

On April 18, an interview was conducted with Don Lee at a café in Seoul, during which he revealed, “During the second installment, I worked on the scripts for the third and fourth installments, and filmed them back to back,” and added, “I hoped for a difference in tone between the third and fourth installments, and it turned out just as I expected. I have been planning The Roundup series for 10 years.”

He continued, “While filming the third and fourth installments, I also worked on the scripts for the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth installments. Although the exact dates [of release] have not been determined, I am working on them until the scripts come out well. If the first, second, third, and fourth installments are considered the first part, then the fifth installment and onwards will be the second part. There is also a global version, and we are making various attempts. However, considering the timing, I don’t think the fifth installment will be released next year.”

When asked if the eighth installment would be the last, Don Lee replied, “I’ve mapped out the series up to the eighth installment. As for what comes after that, I don’t know.”

The Roundup: Punishment follows the story of “Monster Cop” Ma Seok Do (Ma Dong Seok, aka Don Lee), who fights against Baek Chang Ki (Kim Mu Yeol), a former mercenary leading a large-scale illegal online gambling organization, and IT genius Jang Dong Cheol (Lee Dong Hwi).
