Park Shin Hye‘s stills from Doctor Slump were unveiled.
The production team of the upcoming JTBC weekend drama Doctor Slump revealed still cuts of the character Nam Ha Neul, played by Park Shin Hye, a hardworking anesthesiologist.
In the stills, Nam Ha Neul is seen in the fellowship process at the university hospital. Living a hectic and competitive life at the hospital, tirelessly caring for patients while neglecting her own well-being, Nam Ha Neul’s face, devoid of vitality, reflects the toll of her repetitive routine.
In the following stills, Nam Ha Neul is wandering the streets in surgical attire. Her eyes filled with tears on the verge of overflowing, adding to viewers’ curiosity.
Additionally, attention is drawn to her complex and tense expression captured in a strange place, not the hospital.
Park Shin Hye commented, “I think everyone can experience a slump at least once in their lives. I’ve also had that experience. As a result, I was swayed by the emotions that the character Ha Neul feels,” and “Personally, I wanted to bring the audience a work that could provide healing through everyday and ordinary story.”
Regarding her focus on portraying emotional changes, she mentioned, “I had the opportunity to talk with a psychiatrist for acting, and he mentioned that even if someone is diagnosed with depression, they are not lethargic all day. He said that while experiencing various emotions, one just momentarily loses track of how to overcome any difficulties encountered.” “I kept that in mind and acted. I wanted to portray the process of Ha Neul, who was lethargic and anxious, being healed thanks to her family and Jeong Woo [Park Hyung Sik].”
Doctor Slump will premiere on January 27. The K-drama will be available to stream on Netflix.
