“Concrete Utopia” Kim Sun Young Wins Best Actress Award at 22nd Director’s Cut Awards

Actress Kim Sun Young won the Best Actress award for her role in the movie Concrete Utopia.

At the 22nd Director’s Cut Awards held on March 7, Kim Sun Young won the Best Actress award in the film category. Unlike conventional film awards, the Director’s Cut Awards is a film award ceremony that selects winners in each category through voting by Korean film directors.

Having demonstrated exceptional acting skills in films released last year, such as Dream Palace and Concrete Utopia, Kim Sun Young has swept numerous awards at various film festivals, including the Best Actress award at the 20th Asian Film Festival, Best Supporting Actress award at the 59th Grand Bell Awards, and the Best Actress award at the 24th Women in Film Korea Festival. 

Holding back tears, Kim Sun Young sincerely expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you very much. I am grateful to director Uhm Tae Hwa for casting me, and it was an honor to act alongside senior actor Lee Byung Hun. Thank you.”
